If you don't want to watch a whole video where I show this in detail, here's the bullet: the following hotels are this many minutes walking distance to at least one of the entrances to the Las Vegas Convention Center's West Hall...

Marriott - 90 seconds
Fontainebleau - 2 or 3 minutes (estimated)
Residence Inn - 5 minutes
Courtyard - 6 minutes
Springhill Suites - 7 minutes
Boingo Monorail Station - 8 or 9 minutes
Westgate - 8 or 10 minutes
Circus Circus - 13 minutes (estimated)
Renaissance - 15 minutes (estimated)

... if you haven't already booked a room for this year's Hacker Summer Camp, I'd suggest that you might want to start looking into it, because I know many other folk have already! Good luck! 👍😁👍

Thanks for this. I don't think people realize the distances involved in Vegas properties.

After your original video, my original plan was to keep my resso at Harrah's since the monorail stop looked much closer than it seems to be. Might re-evaluate again. Thanks for putting this together!

Thanks for doing the work most people can't. There's no other good places to get this info from.

I love, Love, LOVE that you call it "The Tesla Sewer", given the report that just came out about its skin-burning excretions. 😁

As someone who was once a not infrequent visitor to Vegas, and even as someone who comes from the very hot, very humid, climate of Savannah, GA... beware the Vegas heat and take appropriate steps in terms of cooling and hydration. If you're not used to heat, say you're from a cooler climate, you're GONNA be hot... ass on fire HOT... If you're used to hot AND humid like I am, Vegas heat is VERY deceptive because it won't really FEEL hot to you but you NEED to proactively hydrate even moreso than at home. First trip to Vegas I'm literally walking down the strip in a suit like "I'm not even sweating"... I WAS, it was just evaporating too fast to notice. 106F at 3% humidity hits different than 106F at 50% humidity because you don't feel it until it hits you and you're doin the "kickin chicken" and a medic is trying to get an IV in your arm.

Be safe, have fun, hydrate, change your socks.

I booked a room at the Sahara after watching your previous video. Google maps show a monorail station across the street from the hotel. Thanks for the videos and checking out the hotel locations.

August is very hot their, I avoid going to Las Vesgas during the following months since I can do anything outdoors then.

June, July, August, September, and sometimes October. Its just too hot to spend any period of time outdoors.

So definitely come prepared to drink lot of water. Avoid caffinated drinks and alcohol as much as possible.

Okay, but what are the distances in dB of RF attenuation? As, how far away should your phone be? ;)

Yeah dont forget to multiply by 2-4x because its vegas in August! So many defcons ive drunkenly gone "oh a 30 minute walk aint bad" just to get there begging for water & feeling like I was marooned in the desert for hours.

I'm going to the Convention Center soon for another show soon. The unlimited monorail ticket per day is very good. There is a little bit of a walk to west hall from the station at Central/South Halls. There is a station at the Saharah. I stayed there last year and it was a decent experience. No room service and room cleaning was not every single day. They have online ordering to on property restaurants for you to get takeout back to your room. When I arrived the room was very clean. I was in the Marra Tower.

as someone from a place with a pretty temperate climate (the netherlands) I'm amazed vegas in summer is bad enough to warrant a video like this

How far is it to travel down the road and back again?

while there may be more walking, how is the travel path from north hall across the skywalks to west hall? is that entire path air conditioned? and would north hall be accessible during that time? sometimes an air conditioned path is preferred over a shorter one.
