I am 54, a veteran, and disable( from an accident not service). I agree with everything you said. There are times when you need to be one or the other . But, never be a sheep. Always be the sheepdog. The wolves will tell the difference.

Being a YouTuber left my *GREYMAN* days in the dust lol

I do grayman every day, lo profile, don’t attract attention, wear neutral colors. I love it when I’m looked over or ignored.

You are right about the service and the grayman concept. We were taught how to make it back to friendlies by avoiding detection. In civilian life that skill is good when needed.
Great video, keep them coming.

You make some great points. In addition to Greyman being used as a method to fit in and evade, it can also be used as a means to draw in the predators to deal with a threat on your own terms if needed. A wolf in sheep's clothing so to speak.

The key is to be smart and know when to implement one or the other. If SHTF occurs, and the government, or remnants thereof, set up food distribution sites, then it would probably be wise to become a Grey Man, and go ahead and stand in that line with everyone else. People start noticing that you're not struggling for food, and looking healthy, then you just may have the whole neighborhood knocking on your door. I saw a video about a Yugoslavian Prepper, that had his house burned down during the war, because the townsfolk realized he had supplies, but wasn't sharing.

Certainty makes sense. As a guy who is 6'9" tall and a shade over 300 lbs, it's nearly impossible for me to go unnoticed. So hard target it is.

I work in a more ethnic populated area of the city, and being a 6'3", 230lb white guy, I stick out like a sore thumb. So being a greyman is all but useless on a day to day basis. You are correct in advising to hone your self defense skills. Over the years I have become skilled in Krav Maga on top of my grayman and survival skills. One can always improve on situational awareness, and the skillset on getting home alive if any scenario arises. Thank you for your advise and continuing education, good bless brother.

Good advise Jack, I grew up in Detroit so learned how to own my space as a small stature guy in military I stuck out because of the way I talked all worked well for me as 25 year LEO, now most people think I'm a crazy ol' biker so not grey (except gotee/hair) but not to be messed with Ol' Man LOL 😎

In a griddown, don't wanna be a kitty nor a tiger, I rather be black panther ....stealth. And in the open, play the facade

Great vid boss...I dabble in greyman tactics while its voluntary and unwarranted. Keeps me sharp. I'm 6'3" 280 so its not an easy task and most certainly not for me but I really do benefit from practicing at least in the city and my area where bearded goons are plenty. Simply trying to mitigate my presence daily and even at a party has kept me mindful.... got laughed at by a buddy for walking round a shallow puddle...calling me princess hahahaha after I explained why he quieted down but now he always asks if anyone followed me as a joke...gotta love brotherly harrasment....gracias sensei for the good work and Godbless

In order too stay ahead of the game you have to keep your head on a swivel and have 100% situational awareness, i live my life in condition yellow 24/7 and so far at 56yr. young it has kept me out of harms way.

Also I always thought being a grayman meant that you just didn't dress tacticool. Avoiding olive drab, cargo pants, polo shirts and your tactical pack with molle pouches hanging off them and your thick ass gun belt or riggers belt around tour belt line.

I've been city person my whole life and we don't let people walk in our space without a "hey what's up" or " "how's it going" while staring them down
(not even threating wise either) it goes a long way the first step is the size up if you're aware from the jump they're less likely to try something

Could not agree more. I tend to carry myself with a real sense of confidence. I also have certain items always on me, but those tend not to be necessary because I wont let myself look like a possible victim...even if I am scared.
Its not bad to be scared or have fear, everyone has it and would be foolish to think they are invincible, to key is to not wear it.
Great video Jack.

I am a pretty private dude with a general lack of trust in people, even my own blood I must say. When society breaks down I really can't see that changing. Perhaps at some point I will realize that I need some sort of help and take a chance on befriending someone, but until that happens, being "Greyman" is of the utmost importance to me. That's basically how I've tried to live my life as it is for years now. I can't stand attention, I love being under the radar and living in stealthmode, that's where I'm comfortable.

"If any adversary attacks me, then I'm gonna destroy them." Sounds like something I'd say. You're the man, Jack!

Thanks for giving me a true perspective on urban “survival” Jack. Add it to what I’ve learned from you over the years. 👍👊

Two things came to mind. One gray man tactics involve adapting your lifestyle to blend into your surroundings easily. From movements at certain times of day to clothes and accessories. Two...how you walk says everything for how you train. Change your walk into average joes walk but keep your stance. Love this topic! Semper fi
