The NEW 2024 Toyota Stout - A CLASSIC Truck for MODERN Enthusiasts

Just like the rest of the automotive market, pickup trucks are getting more expensive every year and with the ongoing electrification, they will soon enough be out of reach for an average pickup buyer. That said, it doesn’t surprise that buyers are looking for cheaper alternatives. Many of them found it in the new Ford Maverick, a unibody vehicle with the body of a classic pickup. The demand is so big that Ford still can’t organize the production process to make enough units, two years after the initial launch. And as the world’s largest carmaker, Toyota sees this as a great opportunity for another car segment to conquer. And for that purpose, it’s willing to bring the famous nameplate back, a nameplate that represents the early days of Toyota’s pickup evolution, a nameplate that represents a model that set the foundation for Hilux, Tacoma and other bestsellers. The Japanese carmaker is bringing the new Toyota Stout – a classic name for modern enthusiasts.

So, here's what the people DON'T want...
- extra creature comforts
- driver assist ANYTHING
-a vehicle that shuts off when you stop at a light
-a rediculous price tag for a not so basic truck

I love it!! Please Toyota build it here in the USA, we basically have no choice of small trucks but the Ford and Hyundia. We need a Stout, it will be a hit I guarantee it!

We mainly use our pickup for work around our property so a 6’ bed is a Must.
The older Hilux Toyota pickups had a 6’ bed and we worked them.

I'm looking forward to a nice compact truck thats also nice on the MPG, especially if I can do light off roading.

The price would be the game changer. I would definitely buy one if it had an extra cab option. Not a 4 door but an extra cab.

Small pickups need to come in single and super cab size, the double cab is hardly ever in use on the trucks I see out one the roads.

I’m not sure why some people are fascinated about the display panels in new vehicles. I see some reviewers complaining about small panels. To me, a display panel is just another unnecessary part that can fail.

Dream come true for me! I don't need/want a crew-cab. I need a single cab truck with a longer bed than the current compact trucks have- Maverick/Santa Cruz. Smart move on Toyota's part and I think it will be successful. Sign me up.

Used to have a car and a truck....now just a car. Retired now so no need for two vehicles. Driving a '23 Prius, before that a Camry Hybrid (getting over 50 mpg for over 4 years now....got to love it). Very much interested in the Stout as an only vehicle. Having a truck/passenger vehicle at a great price and fairly decent mpgs is win/win for me. Build it and sign me up. :)

Just make a normal truck that doesn’t have so much stuff on it, it blows up the price, that’s why people would want it cause they don’t to spend over 30 grand for a truck.

In August 2013 I bought a 1997 Ford Ranger XLT 2.3L 5 speed 6ft bed for $2400 cash. I still have it! It has about 180, 600 miles. Gets about 21 mpg in combined driving. Sure it is not fast and you have to down for steep hills but it starts easily and runs quietly. Other than fluid changes I have not spent $6000 total on this truck that includes the purchase of the truck, a new clutch, brakes (front twice), tires, shocks, two batteries, an alternator and a few other small items. Not bad for a 26 year old vehicle. And it it not rusty!
I would like a new truck with an "access"/"extended" cab but I definitely want a 6ft bed, but now even full size 1/2 ton truck don't have 6ft beds if they are double cabs.

Been waiting for 2 door cab all I can say great job Toyota on the Stout😊

A roll down mono piece back glass would allow for all the extra cargo space getting missed out on in the crew cab. Hell, you could potentially make the cab extending into the back seats area optional with the mono body build. Just flip down the seats and you could stack tons of 8ft long boards in. Or invent a 4ft extendable truck bed.. Thatd be sick.

Still drive a 97 Tacoma 4x4. Comfortable enough and very capable and they wasn’t unaffordable at the time..
