The only reason there is or was no market for compact trucks is because they stopped making them

No way a pickup truck will ever be that cheap. I absolutely do not believe this. These false crazy claims need to stop.

There is no way a Toyota truck will ever come to the American market for under $30, 000. Toyota dealers would never let a truck on their lots for under $30, 000.

Pickup trucks used to be used mainly as working machine with the basics, rubber/vinyl floors, 8 ft bed, single cab, AM/FM radio, optional AC. I want a basic truck that I am not afraid to get all dirty.

No way this will come to the U.S. Even if it did it would be starting at 25k. I would be happy to be wrong on this, but I really don't think so.

Build one with a regular 2 door cab and full length bed, and I'll take one

This would hurt Taco sales in the U.S. We will never see this truck.

How bout someone building what we used to call a “rubber-mat” version of a small truck. Because I can (and still do) check my own oil, air and coolant levels, I do not need any type of display screen……controls that utilize knobs and switches (that I can feel without taking my focus off of the road) would be my preference. I do not need 47 different “safety and convenience” features. An AM/FM radio, heater and AC is all I need in the cab. A bullet-proof 4 cylinder engine coupled to a manual transmission with a towing capacity of maybe 3000 lbs. To minimize future maintenance costs, a manual transmission is my first choice. Finish it off with manual windows and two outside mirrors and I’ll give it serious consideration. 🤨

Wonder if they’ll make a Stout with a standard cab and longer bed like the original.

$17, 000 dollars becomes $30, 000 once it's bought and driven off the lot. Still that's far better than other new vehicles on the market. But the $17, 000 advertised price is far less than what it would really cost for this truck if was actually produced and sold in the US.

Dont believe the puckup price that low. Toyota nerds to be in fair market competition with other car makers to avoid lawsuit so the MSRP price could
be close to ford ranger which might be close to $26000 or higher. Even if the cost of priduction is $12000.
