RPCS3 PS3 Emulator ISO Games Booting Fail Invalid File & Folder Fix

ISO format game failed to boot?
Invalid files & folder error.
Here is the fix.
This fix will work for RPCS3 on Steam Deck and PC.

☕️ SUPPORT the channel

Make Sure You EJECT(UNMOUNT) ISO File on Windows before running Patcher & 3K3Y.

The software you need for ISO format Games:

IRD Download website:

Note: After unzipping the patched ISO with 7-Zip
Make sure to remove the .dec from the folder name.

Note:
1.Please make sure you *EJECT/UNMOUNT ISO* file on Windows Before you run the patcher tool and ISO tool.
Otherwise, ISO tool will get error msg (Invalid ISO file. This file does not contain PIC/D1/D2 data)

2. If after using ISOTOOL you get an ISO file with .enc extension instead of .dec
this means your original ISO file has been decrypted. you can use 7zip to extract the original ISO file and put it into the ROM folder it will work with the emulator.

3. Very Important: Make sure IRD file is exact matched with your game version (TITLE ID)

Here is a tip if you used ImgBurn to get the iso from your ps3 games: rename the file type from ".ISO" to ".iso" This will get rid of the "wrong file type" error in 3k3y. The iso is not invalid or anything. Its just that 3k3y specifically checks the filetype and looks for a ".iso" without any capital letters. Found this tipp online and it worked for me.

if you are facing error file decrypting just delete rpcs3 because the iso file is being used in it and it doesnt remove, this worked for me

I got invalid iso file error first while using IsoTools to decrypt the iso file. After trying a lot of things, I found I could not change the iso file name since it is used by an application (although I don't know what it is), then I knew I did not patch the iso file correctly. After I rebooted Windows, everything worked!

FYI: make sure the name for the ISO and IRD files match exactly when you patch or use 3k3y. It was giving me errors and once I did that it worked perfectly

You say we can find the iso serial # in RPCS3 but don't show how to do it. So helpful. Edit: Since the Author of the video doesn't want to include all the info needed, to get the IRD # for the game you want, extract the contents of the ISO into RPSC3 games folder, then hit refresh in RPSC3, and delete the extracted iso files after you get the S/N.

Thank you so much for uploading this video! Been trying so many times with other kind of ways but it didn't work, until I saw this video. I don't have any of that handheld portable gaming devices, but the tutorial works in PC too!

P/S: If you're trying to play on PC as well, know that it still didn't work even if you followed the whole processes, but the last part of this video is for the handheld device. After decrypted the iso and followed the whole process, go to RPCS3, then go to "File" at the top right, and then "Add Games". Then go to your game folders and select it. Boom, you should have it in RPCS3, then you can click play or "Restart".
