Come with me to Scarborough for Part Two of Anne Brontë’s Final Journey. I visit the locations of her final days, her grave, the spot where she died, as well as attend ‘About Anne’, an event held in memory of Anne Brontë by The Anne Brontë Association. Is there much to see of the old Scarborough? How did Charlotte Brontë and her friend Ellen Nussey cope?

BUY ME A BREW
If you'd like to support my channel, I have a Ko-Fi account where you can donate the cost of a brew. I'm truly grateful for the gesture, but please know that your support by watching, liking, and subscribing is more than enough. Some have wanted to treat me to the cost of a cup of tea, and this is how you can do it. Thank you so much for being here!

ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Kate—a huge fan of the Brontë Sisters for many years. Upon relocating to Yorkshire with my husband, I found myself irresistibly drawn to the village of Haworth, home of the Brontë Sisters and my obsession grew. It was during the challenging days of the Lockdown in 2020 that I decided to channel my passion into action. Disappointed by the lack of quality Brontë-themed goodies available, I embarked on a mission to create my own and my online shop was born.
Since then, I've immersed myself in the world of literature, attending Book Festivals and events across the UK. Inspired by my adventures and encouraged by the enthusiastic response from fellow Brontë enthusiasts on social media, I decided to share my experiences through YouTube videos.

You seem to like Anne as much as I do! I don’t think there’s enough about her out there. My favourite sister who wrote my favourite novel of the three. I absolutely adore The Tennant of Wildfell Hall!

Heart breaking for Charlotte, who took weeks to return to Haworth.

We visited her grave on Saturday. What a lovely spot (except for the car park they've created nearby!) and a really sad story.

Bizarrely, many of the global population are still walking around with latent (i.e. asymptomatic or few symptoms) TB, some of whom will die from its complications sooner or later (I work in gerontology and public health).

Thank you for posting such a beautiful episode. Scarborough is also well worth a daytrip.

Anne was one tough cookie! She chose a beautiful place to transition to the other side. 😢

What can be said of yet another one of your beautiful, heartfelt tributes to one of the Brontës? Each one is so beautiful. Thank you for all your efforts to share with the world....being a former video creator myself I know the time it takes to put one together and have it convey feelings....you have that gift. And it's wonderful that you take your daughter along on your Bronte adventures. How appropriate that a rainbow appeared at 11:10. And your friends, the seagulls, were thanking you for Anne. She now soars high with them ❤

Despite the rain Scarborough seems to be a very beautiful town. I love Anne Brontë ’s ” the tenant of whidfell hall”, such a daring and subversive novel from apparently such a quiet girl ...but as always, appearances can be so deceptive withe the Brontës

One of the details of these last days which has always stayed with me was Ellen's note about the doctor's impression of Anne: ‘in all his experience he had seen no such death-bed, and that it gave evidence of no common mind.’ Part of that may have been that when Anne asked him about how much time she had left, she specifically asked him not to please tell her the truth because she wasn't afraid.
