► About Me
Hoi! I'm Sanne. Ten years ago I moved from the Netherlands to London, where I'm currently working as a freelance social media producer in the publishing industry, event host and content creator. I've been making videos for 13 years and on my channel I talk about books, translation, the publishing industry, London, travel, plus career and creativity advice. If you're looking for your next book to read, need a confidence boost before starting your internship/new job or want to follow my journey trying to reach new creative and freelance goals, you're in the right place!

► Frequently asked questions
◦ Where is your accent from?
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, studied English Lit at Leiden University (also in the Netherlands), studied in the US for 3 months and have lots of American friends. Now that I live in London, I still mostly have my American accent, but with lots of British vocab mixed in.

◦ Where do you live?
I currently live in St Albans, just North of London.

◦ Where do you work?
I’m a Freelance Social Media Producer, public speaker and YouTuber/blogger. Before that I was an Audience Manager at Penguin Random House UK.

◦ How did you get your job in the publishing industry?
I did publishing work experience on 3 different occasions, did a lot of networking and learned everything I know about social media from creating and running my YouTube channel for 8 years. P.s. you don't necessarily have to study Publishing or English to get a job in publishing.

You can hide the stains on the handkerchiefs by dyeing with black tea and you'll have that lovely old off-white lace colour.

I found Villette hard-going and I've a degree in English literature. I really enjoyed The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and also Agnes Grey. Anne Bronte deserves to be much better known as a writer.

I had no idea that area would be so beautiful. I had something rather bleak in mind. That was long ago though, when I read Wuthering Heights. Time for a reread.

Lovely! We listened to the audiobook of Hound of the Baskervilles for the first time in Dartmoor. You're right the place brings it to life. And the South West is stunning 😍

I almost chose Wuthering Heights for my English degree seminar paper because I love it so much but ended up choosing The Tenant of Wildfell Hall to give Anne some love. I loved that book-you can see how unshy Anne really was about her thoughts!

I'm a huge fan of the Brontës sisters; I read and studied all of their work during my Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Language and Literature and even wrote my dissertation on their stylistic way of writing. I can only say I love your video, this is a trip I will definitely do sometime in the future!

I read Villette as part of a Narcissism in Literature class and it was exactly the book I needed at the time. I was going through growing pains very similar to the main character so I found the book riveting. However, I recognize that that was probably an unusual way to read the book so it is interesting to hear your take! Thanks for this video!

Your video is the best one I've found about Haworth. I would love to visit someday and considering your trip for my 40th birthday if the stars align.
