Charlotte, Anne & Emily Bronte - Walking in the footsteps of the Bronte Sisters

Показать описание
Emily Bronte, Anne Bronte, and Charlotte Bronte lived 180 years ago. We visit Bronte Country and walk in the footsteps of the Bronte Sisters, piecing together their tragic short lives as we visit places they lived or frequented.
The Brontes wrote some of the most dramatic fiction right here in West Yorkshire and many of the places still exist. On our walk, we will head to where it all started at the Bronte's birthplace in Thornton. Visit the school that Charlotte Bronte immortalised as Lowood School in Jane Eyre. See Oakwell Hall which she based Fieldhead on in Shirley. Walk the wild Haworth Moors to Top Withens where Emily Bronte found inspiration for Wuthering Heights, and a whole lot more.
All the time telling the story of how the 3 Bronte Sisters came to be the famous writers we all know today.

My brother lived in Haworth for a while, so I was lucky enough to stay on occasion. I burst into tears the first time I walked into the dining room at the Parsonage, I felt so overwhelmed.
'Genius' is an over-used word, but the level of genius in this strange family was astonishing.

Unbelievably well made: the research and story were fascinatingly interesting, the scenes beautifully filmed, and the narration style and delivery absolutely perfect, very enjoyable to watch. Far and above way better than anything on tv.

What a tragic story for Charlotte Brontë and the Brontë sisters. Their classic novels will live on. Beautifully done. ❤

A beautiful and sensitive video of the Brontë family’s home and surrounds. Like many people, we had to study their books at school, here in Australia. I found their books thrilling, yet the authors lives were so sad, dying so young as they did. Thank you for this tribute to their lives, their village and the moors they loved.

My wife & i have enjoyed all your films but we both agree that this & the Snowshill films really showcase your amazing gift for writing & reading your narrations. So informative & relaxing & inspiring. Bravo 👏

I always look forward to a new post from you! I lived in England for a while as an AU pair (1981-1982) and I still miss England. Having a cup of tea (with milk and sugar of course) and shortbread is a perfect time! I'm looking forward to the next posts and hope you continue for a long time. Greetings from Germany

Stunning and beautiful Yorkshire scenery!!! Amazing and yet tragic story of the Bronte family!!! One can only imagine the effects of their deaths on Patrick Bronte, having to live with the painful experience of their lives cut short by disease, damp environment and drinking/drug abuse, for the rest of his life. Thank you again for your wonderful work!!! 💖

Simon and Will you outdid yourselves this time. My favourite so far. What a tragic tale. So much loss. It was the way of the times but I don’t know how they handled it all. I was waiting to see if the sisters found love. Charlotte being left as the only surviving child, then she finds love and her and her unborn child die. How much we take for granted in our time. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate the hard work you both put in to bring us these beautifully crafted videos. I do look forward to them every week. Much love. ❤️🇨🇦

Oh, this was so so good… I truly appreciate the time and the details that you included to make this wonderful… I do have to add though that, although the events of their lives seemed tragic and were, a part that is missing from this is their deep faith. The books have their faith in God as Christians running all through them, and I believe that the father, who saw so much pain, took refuge in the Lord to bring him through his life.

I'm a yank, and didn't know much about the Bronte sisters. Then saw the film Emily just last night, so I came here. I'd like to say well done, and thank you for this great, thorough, and educational day trip back into time, to get a real feel for the sisters creative genius.

My daughter & I stayed at the Old White Lion Inn across from the Black Bull in May and loved Haworth. The people were so warm and welcoming. They even have their own taxi company that took us back to Bradford to the train station.

I have to say that all your segments on the homes and haunts of British literary figures are so enjoyable . I am looking forward to the tour of the Bronte parsonage . It sounds as though the Bronte family biography would make a a great gothic novel in it's self .

Excellent tour of the historic places of the talented Bronte sisters! What a stunning and rugged countryside. It must have been magical to walk where the sisters walked. We forget how tenuous life was in the 1800's. I look forward to your next adventure! All the best to you both from Massachusetts!🙂

That was so good to watch, I loved it all and saw lots of the surrounding area that I haven’t seen before. The videoing was excellent quality. I am now looking forward to part two. I have been to Haworth three times but I’m still seeing more of it from your coverage. This has been a real treat for me. Thank you so much.
