Half Micronesian half Polynesian here. Palauan and Sāmoan! Born in Tahiti and lived in Hawai’i! Now on the east coast of the USA!

I lived in truk(chuuk)back in the early 50s and then moved to yap. I left yap in 1960. Went back regularly for a while. Then parents moved to saipan. The last time I went to micronesia was in 1973 but it was to chuck. I still have yap in my heart. My father's ashes were spread in yap. I still have my yap state flag.

102 B.c Micronesian have been traveled all around the globe by sailing canoe using stars and waves current etc. and you know what else they use for communication? Thunder and lightning “yes”. they’ve been to South America and Southeast Asia. It’s because nobody wrote their expedition people these day believed in their own perspective. Micronesia is where the master of navigators are born.

I had been trying to understand Micronesia, and found this video to be the best analysis and summarization available on the Internet. The narrative and graphics are exceptional, so I am subscribing. Looking forward to future posts. Great job!

I have been researching islands, became fascinated and still finding out if there is more. I would love to go to somewhere in the Micronesia. It looks beautiful. There is so many places in the world I wonder why not many people have thought of wanting to go to these islands, so many new cultures

I am a Micronesian, to be specific, I am a mixture of Belauan (Republic of Palau) and Chamolinian (Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands). My mother is Palauan from the island of Peleliu, ROP and my father is Chamolinian from the island of Agrigan, CNMI. I am what you call a Americanized Micronesian (Micro-American), I was born in 1980, born in Saipan, CNMI but raised in both Arai, ROP and Saipan, CNMI. I have duo citizenship status; I am both a US Citizen (the CNMI is a US territory) and a Palau Citizen and very heavily influence to American culture and patriotism while growing up. Which means, I was never fully taught the ways of both my cultures this includes speaking my native tongues. It's sad that now I am 41 yrs of age living in Saipan to this day and I am still the same. I don't practice my culture as much and speak as much. I wish I never ended like this but what can I do - I can't go back in time, all I can do is live life the best of my know how here on this tiny island I call home.

BIBA SAN KATAN NA ISLAS AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

A good narrative on the geography of what is Micronesia. A historical narrative from the perspective of Colonialism is needed to shed more light on the political landscapes in the region.

I from Malaysia, i hope our cousin, from Guam and Mariana Island get it independent just like Palau and Federation of Mirconesia, your culture, architecture and tradition are unique. but what is mirconesia in native language, in Malaysia-Brunei and Indonesia included Filipino we called it 'Nusantara', Nusa mean Island, other word for Pulau/Pulo for Island in Malay and Indonesia. antara mean between. so Between Islands. because we travel between those island and peninsular.

Although Guam is a Territory of the US and CNMI has a Commonwealth status with the US, they too are within that which borderers Micronesia from other Pacific Is. Countries.

Amazing culture. I love learning about this. I'm moving to Hawaii and I just want to know what's MORE.

What on the other side? We're never thought anything about you guys. Not even in University. ONLY Hawaii, and is not fair.
