Micronesia is made up of 4 island states: Pohnpei, Kosrae, Chuuk and Yap. The country is known for palm-shaded beaches, wreck-filled dives and ancient ruins, including Nan Madol, sunken basalt temples and burial vaults that extend out of a lagoon on Pohnpei. I met a bunch of Micronesians in Wa State working at a warehouse. I quickly made friends with them and learned as much as I could about their culture. I remember they all chewed beetle-nut and had red teeth! I loved hearing stories about diving and swimming and Atolls. My dream is to travel there one day.

FYI Micronesia is a region and consists up to 2100 islands. However, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) is a country within Micronesia and is made up of the 4 island states of Kosrae, Pohnpei, Chuuk and Yap.
