Cantonese guy here - who grew up in Cantonese restaurants - your recommendations are FAR better than the rather ordinary TikTok ones.

Henry makes me feel better about my social skills. That "are the dumplings good" part was.. .

I just realized why I love this guy so much. All the shorts creators are always so pretentious, with their claw cutting, chopstick stirring, asmr sound mixing and always perfect ingredients that makes cooking seem way harder than it really is.
futurecanoe (and other cooking channels I ACTUALLY watch) show how to cook for yourself, follow recipes and nook like a normal person. This makes it so much more approachable and inspiring

I wonder if the woman that sat across from you just has a dislike for food vloggers and was trying to ruin the shot to assert dominance

I almost killed myself when he asked if the dumplings are tasty

4:10 In Cantonese culture it's common for ladies to leave chopsticks on your table as a sign that they like you.

asking the clerk if the dumpling is tasty - 10/10

Notice how the one he said "I'll try this again in the future" was the one he rated 5/10 so the way to get people to come back isn't to make amazing food, but aggressively mediocre food is the way to go.

Please do this again. I don't know what was more entertaining, the food part or the socially awkward parts

The cantonese lady sitting across you is talking in Mandarin. "Wu bo hui yao ni la" = I don't bite you. Meaning "Don't worry, I won't bite." Not sure if they said anymore than that because the audio cut away there.

Is anyone gonna talk about his search history of “Joshua Weissman only fans, ” “Eileen gi single?, ” and “Gordon Ramsay forehead” at the beginning of the video 💀

"is the dumpling tasty?"
"yeah"
"okay"

Very normal interaction

The interaction at 7:10 is a 6.5/10. Better than what I would’ve done.
