We've had some bad ideas before, but hooking a 2.5HP gas powered pump up to a computer has to be the worst.

The advantage of the motor pump is that you won't notice your fan being too loud...

Others: "How much did you over clock your PC?"
Linus: "To about 15 mpg!"
Others: "WHAT?!?!"

WHEW. thank GOD this video came out when it did. I was just about to start installing my General Motors EMD 710 series engine into my PC. guess I'll just go with air cooling this time around. Thank you Landon Tech Tips for this valuable insight!

"I think we can over clock the pump!"
"Wait what?!?!"
Hilarious stuff. I always love the crazy water cooling stuff LTT does.

When you decrease the pipe diameter and increase the flow you increase the friction of the water against the pipe wall, which should be factored into your head pressure calculation. You need larger diameter pipe and fittings.

The most impressive thing about this video, is how clear the voices recording is, considering there is a fuel powered compressor running next to Linus and Alex.

I love how you're using a gasoline-powered pump in front of an "EV Parking Only" sign.

These videos with Alex are giving me old school mythbusters vibes and are a new favourite of mine. Brilliant work amazingly entertaining!

love how they include little tips like "dont leave your reguar pump connected or it could get burned out"
Thanks LTT next time I hook up my gas powered pump to my pc i'll remember that one

The engine wasn't overheating, it was just the paint cooking off for the first time since you hadn't really put it under load before. Those small air cooled engines are hard to kill

For the next cooling experiment, try cooling a PC with a liquid metal loop like an early nuclear reactor.
Liquid metals like Mercury and NaK (the preferred choice for cooling applications) can be circulated using a electromagnetic pump. The pump applies a current to the metal inside of a strong magnetic field, causing it to be repelled and move perpendicular to the magnetic field.

In their staff meeting, Linus asked: How crazy more can we get with water cooling?
Someone took it personally.

Linus: "We wouldn't recommend this as a daily driver"
Me: _Returns to Amazon and cancels the order_

As someone who professionally works with high pressure fluids and their associated fittings regularly, this video made me oscillate from cringing to snorting with laughter in an unsettling but overall enjoyable way.

4:26 Has to be the most Michael Scott thing to do and crazy how well the voice goes as well

The companies housed around LTT must have so many "What the actual F are the doing now O.o" moments....
P.s. that pump looks like it could use some water cooling.
