Thanks for the shout out! I love the watch strap organiser you have behind the wall! I agree with the Green. I should have made the hands in silver or gunmetal like the salmon and it should look better.

I love the colour of that dial. The only thing I'd change is the hands. I think they would look so much better is they were just black instead.

Well slightly off topic, but on my tv screen the recommended videos are a blue dial JLC, comparing two blue Aqua Terras, two different videos of blue Fabergé eggs and oddly, something about an SS officer’s wife. So that leads us to the dial. I love it. That ice blue is something I would really want to have in a collection and since the platinum Rolex President isn’t in my future, I bet I’d like this watch. It’s amazing the detail of that diamond pattern guilloché and I really like the numerals and the sector like pattern too. Great review as always. This would make a great watch to wear as an arm band as well. Very versatile for a dress watch !

Great review. I bought the automatic salmon dial yesterday I am excited to get it. I have the salmon dial Zelos Nova but I want to retire that watch and this one is a little more appealing dial side to me. The only concern I had was the thickness, I understand the manual wind is 1/2 a mm thinner but for the convenience the auto seemed the way to go and I appreciate you showing it in profile. A little taller than I would have liked but when I get it I might change my mind about that aspect. Good review, got you a new sub.

this watch is stunning! I have Gunmetal version of Empire and I really like this watch. My only criticize about this watch is I wish they would make somehow the hour hand a bit more visible in their initial Empire series, I think with these lively colors in the dial hour hand looks a bit more visible which is great. nice review as always Sam :)

I saw a manual wind version of this watch in another video, and lamented how I wished they had gone with a closed case back. Good to know the automatic version has that feature! Really a lovely piece.

I backed the Empire on KickStarter and mine was the hand wound version with the Miyota 6T33 in guilt color. After I recieved the watch I realized that I really wasn't a fan of the art deco style. The watch was very good quality and Ivan did a great job with the Empire but it just didn't make a hit with me. The one thing I really didn't like was the onion crown. It was difficult to wind and hard to pull out to set. Thanks again, Brian.

That blue colour isn't my cup of tea. But I really love the art deco style. I would prefer it in silver without any colour.

Another great review. I randomly found your reddit account by the way (I've always just known you through YT). Sad to see you sold it but hey, that's the flipper life.

I wanted to ask one thing about the Vario Empire, I wonder if they're individually serialised? I tend to get my age at the time when this is the case, or my age next year. Only for micros obviously - for Omega or something it would be unrealistic.

I actually found your reddit since you had an Ophion vélos. I take it no review forthcoming? I am extremely interested in that watch and would be interested in any further thoughts you had. Especially for the salmon dial, but I wonder if it's a collector that I'm falling into and won't care for.
