A use that wasn't mentioned: if you've got an elderly or sick relative that's struggling to get enough calories, you can mix some powdered milk with normal milk, and increase its nutritional value and calories, and have them use that in things like drinks and cooking. Tastes the same (although some day it tastes creamier), functions the same, but gives them that extra nourishment

I have seen others freeze the milk in cubes or gallon bags, flat, then remove them from the bags to freezedry. Skips sticking to trays and makes it easier to transport between counter to freezer.

Dry milk is also a great binding agent in homemade sausage, especially if you intend on smoking your homemade sausage I highly recommend adding 2 cups of dry milk for every 10 pounds of sausage

One of my culture shock when I came to Canada was the absence of powdered milk in grocery stores. I love milk but fresh milk gives me ibs so I grew up drinking powdered milk Which is true for most Filipinos and is a lot cheaper.

Do you need to use hot water for it to be turned back into milk or can you also us cold/room temperature water?

That looks like fun! I had freeze dried strawberries once and the were really tasty. Not reconstituted, just eaten like chips.

You could put the milk on top of the freezer and use a long skinny tube and siphon the milk into the trays that are in the freezer.

You can freeze the milk in a bag in the tray so it freezes to size then just take the bag off and freeze dry it and you can do a lot more milk

Have you ever tried freeze drying shampoos, conditioners, lotions, etc? Would be great for camping and taking on planes!
