If you even look at the tank, it will crash...
I have one of these right now & it's pissing me off as I can't find where the problem is despite being 1/3 full of stem plants, floaters & a few non-aquatics with their roots chillin' in the water. The only critters are 3 Venezuelan cories & 2 nerites & I have to change water every 3 days for the past month... They get fed every other day & just a small pinch too.

Great advice and hope you have been enjoying the NEW EVERYTHING thing I have been using for the fish in cycle and I have a feeling it is a no brainer, floating plants 🍁

Is it possible that a sponge filter can get so gunked up that the bacteria is blocked from processing the ammonia? I'm experiencing a sudden spike in ammonia in a tiny tank that only holds like small Killifish fry. The cycle was going perfectly. No more feeding than normal, have not cleaned the filter (obviously), changed substrate, added fish, or anything else. The only thing that's different is my sponge filter is so gunked up that it's barely spouting bubbles. Is it possible that that's the reason the cycle has stalled? I'm planning on cleaning it (i just tested the water, so I haven't done it yet), but i need to change the water and want sure if it would make it worse or better.

Ammonia is the tank killer I already know most of this but I enjoy listening to other people’s opinions on the topic

Or, or, or! You can have a Hanky Panky that eats and craps like a elephant! Always a bucket in front of his tank! 😂 (🤞 Trying for this Monday 🤞)

Should be noted that prime or fritz water conditioners will only bind ammonia for 24 hours. Lower your PH to 6.8 the will solve your ammonia problems

If you’re getting a schooling fish that requires, let’s say, 8 to 10 fish to school happily, how would you go about that without causing a cycle crash

What if you load your tank up with stem or floating plants wouldn't they suck up that extra ammonia in your tank mike
