This week we finished off our hydraulic anchor winch. IT WORKS!!! and she is beautiful. We had a stunning donation from a friend which will allow us to upgrade the speed and weight we can pull with this winch soon after launch. And our new website is up so you can check out where we are heading and the voyages we will be taking our patrons on.

Hope you enjoy

When I finished my boat (ready for splashing anyway) - for a while I looked for other things to do then suddenly there were no excuses - you are getting dangerously close to this point guys - looking good!!

Rooting for you and quite pleased you will eventually have independent steering and anchor winch with that donated pump. You want to go gnarly places. We want you to come back. Robert

Fantastic end to the wench system, giant pump ya could raise the Titanic, well smaller version. Sam's the banger and got tuff on all that plumbing, give him a cold one, or two. Nice job Damien !!

Another awesomeness! What a great video and what a great job well done! I was watching Dangar Stu yesterday (I follow you both) and he mentioned he is going to visit you, that will be so nice to see you all!

G'day Brupeg, Awesome install on the hydraulics, painstaking attention to detail at every turn (no pun intended). I find OCD has its upsides sometimes. That giant crimping tool of Sams reminded me of a supersized version of the pigtail ferrule electrical crimpers you and Richard used in the wiring video. Hope Mishka is feeling better now. Regards to all.

Great video. He's like the ultimate hydraulic engineer. A very sympathetic and bespoke installation with precise care and attention without time constrains or cutting corners.

Will you be using some sacrificial hydraulic fluid to prime the system and flush it through incase there is any debris or contamination in the send and return lines

Also have some spare short hoses for the pump in case of a burst at sea

The space you have in the engine room is a ridiculous contrast to my boat where I have wedge myself between the engine and the scuppers to get to the Alternator/Hydraulic pump/Water pump/starter motor. You can have parties in that engine room and still have a section as a dance floor LOL

Gordon ya legend. A very important piece for a worthy project. That’s pretty cool man.

The boat is coming along so nicely and can’t wait to see it finished!

I can imagine situations where you'd want to be able to steer as well as work the anchor winch, like motoring forward to get the bow over the anchor for a straight pull when its blowing a gale. Would the upgrade pump with two outlets let you do that?

Every time I watch a make a mental list of questions, and than bang you answer them before I ask. Your mind is like a wiz bang of thoughts and what ifs. Love you guys

Excellent! The current setup is pretty slow, but there's generally not much need for speed when hauling an anchor anyway. But when you get that big pump installed the rode will come flying in!

Nice to see Brupeg is coming along. We'll be back in Bundy in November, will try and pop in if you're not on the water by then, would love to check her out.

hello I just finished watching danger stu visit you and saw your engine. I used to make my living rebuilding cummins Motors the motor you have can be changed to a 250 horse with no turbo all the way to a 450 horse and the only real difference is the turbo, the fuel pump button, injectors and timing adjust. that sounds like a large difference but its not. the big dealers will tell you that you have to buy all kinds of things that you don't need to bring the horse power up but all you have to do is balance the air and fuel mix for a clean burn.
on the fuel pump you have an electric fuel solenoid . if yours doesn't have the one with a manual bypass it would be handy if your system losses power.

That intro. Pretty swift transition from the thumbnail to the video. Well done.

As someone who know's nothing about what you're doing, logic tells me two 45 degree bends instead of one 90 degree bend, would leave a thicker wall, and smoother transition in the pipe, hence less likely to burst? Just curious? Love your channel, wish I could experience this, living vicariously through your vlogs will have to do, keep em coming.
