Working on the outside of the boat the past fortnight! It's been great working on the outside during some great weather days! This episode I focus on installing the rudder to the aft of the boat and custom make a foot/boot to hold it all in place. I also head up to the bow of the boat to install the custom plasma cut anchor winch plate on the deck.

We have recently purchased a 46 ft John Pugh Fairwind Yacht hull to convert into our family holiday shack! Completely neglected with some big mistakes made by the original owner and long since forgotten... she's never even hit the water! BUT that's all about to change!!!
Now we will be undertaking one of our BIGGEST projects yet by converting this lifeless boat into a brand new modern yacht.

Over the next few years we will be going through an extensive sailboat rebuild of this Fairwind motorsailer. Fitting out both the interior and exterior, this rundown sailboat is an empty steel hull that requires a full restoration!
It will be a huge challenge working full time and running our family + businesses, but over the next 4-5 years we will get there... with lots of family holidays to come!! Follow our journey as we build our dream - Sailing Quick Creations.

You would want your snubber on the Sampson post, the idea is to take the pressure off the winch/mounting hardware, have a look at the fin setup that project brupeg did on their rudder (same setup as ours and seems to help)

I am not a safety freak but I suggest the shield for the grinder for the easy cuts. I want to see your project finished with you intact. Yes I know you were out of direct shatter field for a lot of it but.... Anyway, nice work
