The Oglethorpe University Museum of Art welcomed Mike Luckovich, Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, on October 14, 2015.

Mike Luckovich received the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning, the top honor of his profession, in 1995 and 2006. The prize committee praised his work for its creativity and effectiveness. In 2006, he also won the Reuben Award, awarded by the National Cartoonists Society to the Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year. Luckovich’s work has also been recognized by the National Cartoonists Society, with the Editorial Cartoon Award in 2001 and additional nominations in 1998 and 2002. Most recently, he won the 2008 National Journalism Awards for Editorial Cartooning. Luckovich’s cartoons are nationally syndicated, appearing in more than 350 daily publications, including The Washington Post, Detroit News, Seattle Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Nashville Tennessean and Houston Chronicle, and are reprinted regularly in Time, Newsweek and The New York Times. Luckovich is a 1982 graduate of University of Washington, where he did freelance cartooning to make ends meet.
