Since they appar to have been cut from solid rock, but not just that,
but also with one piece building, to see what techniques must have been involved,
for comparison with back then contemporary techniques everywhere else.
Seeing up close allws for detailed observation which digital cams lack.
(Why don't people use regular photo techniques for such, and then scan
the pictures at 300x300 dpi or even higher ?)
Back in the 90's I once scanned a picture at such resolution, which yielded a very large
image file that could be observed into such detail that even nowadays 4K or even
future 16K or such can't approach. 169 megs for a single image.

civilisation, proobably the Atlantians, since it actually shows in the different techniques
used to build it.
The lower part has neat fitting stones of very high quality fits, while that which was built
on top of it, tried mimicking the same way of building but didn't even come close.
These top buildings are what the Mayan's built on top of their conquest.
The part below is the more interesting part, which shows highly skilled magma formation techniques,
even curved creations to allow building around corners.
This then was done by the former owners, before the demise of their culture.
