what’s so sad is that she was so close to the rescue team and the trail she was originally on. I think she was about 180 yards away from the rescue team and about 2 miles from where the trail was. I don’t know for sure, but she was so close to being rescued… rest in peace Geraldine.

the saddest thing is that her tent was 2 miles away from the Appalachian trail, she was so close yet so far

I know this one. The journal contained a page were she asked who ever found her body to contact her family letting them know what happen to her. It's truly sad

She had anxiety and bad navigation skills. She was supposed to go hiking with her husband but something (that I dont remember) happened to him so she went alone even tho he tried to convince her not to. She loved hiking
