I’ve worn safe life defense for the last 4 years. Got into many fights wearing it. Spent allot of hours driving in it. The side straps just aren’t practical. I have a video of my vest just breaking apart on me while detaining someone. That side velcro design just is not strong enough.

No light, no oc spray, no ASP, no cuffs who you fooling buddy?! My dept. Still wears Safariland basket weave leather belts and pouches or plain black. SWAT we were a Condor defence belt with cobra buckle with condor pouches. HSG taco crap sucks ass. Safariland isn't selling it any more. We wear the safe life defence tactical vest.
