How Large is the Universe? Bigger than you can Imagine?

How big is the universe? Why even ask or attempt to answer that question? We’re all living our lives in our own little bubble, so why even think about something so abstract? I believe that we should explore and get a better understanding of the universe because it’s about self-discovery. Learning more about the universe tells us more about ourselves because in essence, it is us, we are the universe, we are not separate from it – we are literally it! As Alan Watts said, “we are an aperture through which the universe is exploring itself.”

My intent with this video is to show you, visually, just how large the universe is… and to also touch on what we can learn from that. Stick with me, because however big you think the universe is… it’s bigger.. much, much bigger.

Let's take a journey from the Earth and moon, to the solar system, to the Oort cloud, the Milky Way Galaxy, the Virgo Supercluster, Laniakea Supercluster, and finally the observable universe and beyond!

I second the dude who said he doesn’t leave comments often; I don’t either. But this video however, deserves a lot. To go so deep into the scale of the universe, and conclude with such a beautiful message, man. That is so cool and refreshing. Keep up the great work. So glad I watched this.

This video was made before AI became popular. It is so refreshing to hear a real human voice and excellent, well thought out content. This presentation was the best I've personally seen on the subject and I've watched quite a few.

Thanks! Immensely useful & interesting. I’m a 70yo lifetime solar system and astronomy fan and this is one of the clearest, most concise presentations I’ve seen showing relative scale. Good luck! 🙏🏾

This was a great way to keep us grounded mentally, but to never stop exploring as a species and never stop hoping and praying about peace on Earth bc without it, there will never be peace out there somewhere else.

This was incredible man. I never leave comments so trust me when I say that this was one of the most impressive videos I've ever seen.

I spent almost 15 years studying from 1st grade till I graduated at the university. But today I felt like i was in a class for the first time. All my teachers owe me an apology for not teaching me this!!!! 😭😭

One of those moments when you are glad that Youtube recommended a video to watch. Such a brilliant, well-thought-out explanation of scale in the universe. This will remain useful for decades to come. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Well done. 👏👏👏

it really makes me feel so insignificant... not in a bad way, but just knowing that what we think of as problems mean nothing. It brings me peace.

I try to watch a video about the size of the universe a couple of times a week to humble any ego in meditation. It brings me some peace man. Thanks, was great.

When ever I feel I’m going through a bad moment, I think about this video. It really offers a relevance on how insignificant humans are to the big picture of existence. Love this video.

I have never watched a more mature and philosophical video on YouTube than this one.

This is by far the best scaled down version of the universe video I have ever seen. It was in depht right to the very end when you mentioned the mind blowing belief that I have always thought about of consciousness. Also, the final part where the Earth was zoomed was really cool. It took me a while to trace on Google Earth where you zoomed into but I pinpointed it to the Supernova Planetarium. Perfect ending!

One thing every one of us should learn here is humility.. I am so emotionally touched by the last words in this video... We know nothing.

Mind-blowing.

At the last scene, when Earth was slowly zooming back into the picture, it made me think-- if you kept slowly zooming into earth, then to a continent, a country, a city, then a neighborhood, a street, then an a single house, through the house's roof, to a bedroom, to someone laying in their bed, then to their body, through their skin, fat tissue, and organs, their blood vessel walls, to individual blood cells, and to the microscopic building blocks of life.

We're all in this together.

My science teacher taught us with a similar perspective 64 years ago. This has be like an upgrade. Very interesting but mind blowing when you try to think deeply about it

No single person can imagine the Universe because it's Infinite and no one can imagine Infinity.
