owen is not loved at liverpool, he played for liverpool and was amazing but then playing for utd changed the love the club and fans had for him… merson spot on.. especially for a english players to do it just shows he they cant have really loved the club!

All players want to call a club home at tbe end of their career. James Milner has played for 4 clubs but he will call Liverpool home after he has retired even though he grew up a Leeds fan. Owen calls himself a Liverpool fan but you don't see LFC bringing out the red carpet for him like they will do for Milner. And the reason is simple. He played for United. Matt Busby, a legend, captained Liverpool but he will not be high on the list of LFC's VIPs because he managed United and made them a force. RIP Busby.

Biggest thing I hate about Owen is that he trys putting himself across as Mr Liverpool today...conveniently forgetting his United playing days...You CANNOT play for the other side like Merse said and expect hero worship
