If it was a old 6 or 8/71 supercharger you would be running right down the road. I have been seeing this also. Like flipping a quarter and no more than 50K they are toast.😢 Material usage now a days. I guess you can not complain. Good morning and happy repairs. Thanks for sharing.

From my dealings with Ceramic Bearings in Turbo applications, I wouldn't trust them in a Childs skateboard. YMMV, as always...

I haven’t seen it mentioned so figured I would. That doesn’t sound like bad bearings but rather bad coupler pins between the supercharger pulley housing and the supercharger. I know it doesn’t matter now since it’s getting the works from Jon bon just mentioning for the future. I could be wrong but that’s what it sounds like

Question.. was the bypass valve working? I had a Nissan frontier that had a Eaton on it and if the bypass would stick it would sound EXACTLY like this...

Hey I have a ford taurus 225k and yeah I resemeble that sound!.. What do you want from modern turds this is why they are money pits after 5 or 6yrs you know they are sourcing the parts gobally and you know where that is... This ani't no harder than swapping an intake for any seasoned mechinic. And just wait on the someone else to serivce it so they can put it back in action.

My Son has a ford lightning and he sent his out for the same thing. Bearing replaced and ported I think. I don’t know who makes them Eaton?

I wouldn't blame Dodge for the failure. No automotive company, nor supercharger manufacturer, makes the bearings they use. They are all sourced from companies that actually specialize in, you guessed it, making bearings! Sometimes the suppliers screw up and send out out of spec parts and sometimes crap just happens.

You cheated sending it off to get it fixed. You could have done it. The freight bill will be massive on that thing. It's as big as a 340 block.
