Do's and Don'ts of your new Fan Funding Feature

Now that Fan Funding has rolled out to all YouTube partners in good standing (unless your MCN hasn't enabled it) in the US, Japan, Mexico, and Australia, YouTube has a few rules on how you can and can't use the feature to have your viewers give you money. It really boils down to not using it to sell and products or services or to have viewers support a specific project. It's purely for general donations to support you, the creator.

Fan Funding just became more widely available on YouTube, but there's a couple rules to follow if you want to keep it. My 5 year old daughter helps me discuss them. :)

I see the famebit option requires 1, 000 subscribers to be able to join and I only have 151. I do make some money in ads but about enough to cover my cell phone bill. One thing I have found fun to keep me engaged and interested in growing my channel is reaching out to companies I have done videos on their products and asking for free products. I got a $100 showerhead and $40 worth of paint. The little wins help keep me encouraged as I grow. Thanks for the videos Tim, they're good content.

It's so cute to see your kinds involved with your videos. I'd totally do the same if I had kids...I'm not sure if I'll use the Fan Funding when it becomes available to me. Something about receiving money from my viewers feels strange, and in a way I'd feel like I'm being pressured into proving a service that's worth what they donate, if you get what I mean. I could never ask for money, although it would greatly help as I spend money out of my own pocket all the time to fund my videos. It's expensive!

Still no Fan Funding here in UK. Not even a beta option. :(
But so I can plan for the future, Is the payment system purely Google Wallet, or do they allow other systems such as PayPal (or even direct via a bank account)?
