A fantastic car! Interior color, not my choice, would be what a Southern owner would pick so not to burn your back side, lol. Beautiful car and sounds incredible!!
The sound of those ZL-1 motors is the best of the best. No one had a factory motor available to order for your new car that would top this thing. Only 1 problem with this ZL-1..…
Nobody, and I mean nobody, ever drove a 1969 Camaro ZL-1 with those pizza cutter rear tires that car has on it. Not even in the street in 69/70. Those size tires were used for transport/shipping only as owners replaced them right away.
Many of the ultra rare, top dog cars between 1962-1974 came with open rear differentials and an odd ball gear ratio because the owners would immediately rip out the factory rear diff assembly and back half the cars for racing. Especially before the factory caught up an gave options like 12 bolts and 9" from the factory.
Today, Ford Mustang has rear gear options to pick from and so does Dodge. But Chevy won't give those ordering their new Camaros or Corvettes an option. Automatic trans gets 1 ratio while manual cars get 1 ratio. No choices. Really a huge let down. If you want top end highway rear gears or a really high ratio for the drag strip you are out of luck. And before someone says "just change the ratio after buying", you CAN'T!!! The 6th Gen Camaros and C7 Corvettes have rear differentials that are designed so the gears are not changeable. Unlike C6 and Gen5 Camaros. Really is a deciding factor on which car to buy for some when looking for something to modify and race at the strip.

Is this an original ZL-1 or a tribute? It should be specified in the title.

There is no information here that verifies the authenticity of this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro being a genuine ZL1 therefore it must be a tribute/replica/clone. It should really indicate in the heading/title to this video that the car is indeed a tribute/replica/clone and NOT an original genuine ZL1. Yes it is a beautiful and indeed stunning example - however it is a CLONE.

@samspace81 It is a 5 speed, I am the owner of that car. Took it over there to have Tyler detail it.

ZL1 = Big trouble for Ford and Mopar.

At least in 1969, when the ultimate gen 1 Camaro roamed around.
