I’ve had the base model for a year now and use it everyday for general use and work. I have chrome open with 10 to 15 tabs, Loopcloud for editing, Facebook, YouTube Music and other at the same time and it works flawlessly. It’s on 24/7 just putting to sleep at night. Running two screens over USB-C at 4K and 3440x1440.
It’s honestly been perfect.

You say don't buy it bro, but I've used every model for 25 years. I have never seen a device as stable and fast as the m.2, even for the heaviest video and audio works. You can get it with peace of mind. Dozens of engineers make these devices with the experience they have accumulated over the years.

As you said, “not everyone needs to 512”, that also applies, “not everyone needs that SSD speed “, $100 lower still works better for a lot of users, and if vs m1 mini, spending $100 extra, you get 512 SSD vs 256, and m2 chip, and other upgrades.

If editing off of external Thunderbolt SSD's, does it really matter what speed is the internal SSD? I don't see this as a problem as I can buy a DAS and keep all my stuff on that anyway, for cheaper too... If the computer dies, or I upgrade... My files aren't internal and lost or needing transfer. For a desktop computer, I'd buy the best internal specs and the least internal storage that I can get away with for programs. It's not like I need the portability.

You know, it is videos like these that help with the decision process. A lot of people are just talking about how great it is, and it is an upgrade, but you guys go deep with it and specify why you should changes ssd sizes or ram etc when buying and that is appreciated.

what is the problem? you pay less than the previous model, if you double the size of SSD, you have double of the speed but also double the capacity and you pay just a little more than the M1 cost (with significantly improved m2 performance)

Yeah, maybe it’s slower, but most Mac YouTubers aren’t using a Mac mini for their job. This is for average users
