Easier method: beat the main story and just spend the 300 purple coins lmao

Find a Koopa and drop it in between the pipes in the same level. Push one of the pipes towards the other, until the only space for the Koopa is a single tile. Wall Slide on the pipe on the right side to hop on Koopa. Slide again and jump so the shell will spin but you stay off the floor. Repeat those steps.

It sounds difficult but when you do it it's really fast and easy

Another WAY FASTER one, go to the world 2 level, “Condarts away” Go to the place with the condart, the koopa, and the bricks in the ground, with a bubble ability. Kill the condart. Break the top two blocks and the block to the left of the second layer, throw the koopa shell to the right, and jump. If you make a video on this, credit me pls.

Fun fact: you can also do this in "Condarts Away" (W2).
You need a drill mushroom or bubble flower (no badge needed) and go to the part with a condart and 7 brick blocks. Don't let the condart break the bricks. Instead, kill it and break the top 2 bricks, as well as the the brick farthest left in the middle. Then, place the koopa on the middle right block and jump on it until you get 99 lives

if you get the first one that you jump over into the hole you can actually do it without the badge completely, you just have to keep grabbing onto that wall under those 2 other barrels to save yourself from touching the floor and jump off it and continue,

I’m pretty sure you can also do the original infinite 1-up trick by using a koopa shell

This is good early game, but there's a better one in Fluff-Puff Peaks. It requires a bit more set-up, but once it's started, you can AFK until you have all the lives you need.

Might have to look up a video, because it's too hard to explain. But it's in the Condarts level after the checkpoint. You have to defeat the first condart and then ground pound just enough snow blocks so there's just enough space to place a koopa shell and then bounce on it.

You can use a second one and there’s a loops in the pipe rock level that you can stick in a small hole and get one ups easier.

What I did was just play nabbit and not progress until you collected everything in a level, maximizing your purple coins, then keep buying 1-ups. Nabbit so you wouldn't lose more lives than you gained
