5,000-Year-Old Ancient Sunken City Was Discovered in Southern Greece

A new discovery was made recently which completely took the world by surprise. What appears to be the oldest submerged city to have ever been discovered by humanity has now been found by John Henderson of the University of Nottingham alongside the rest of his team.

According to them, this city dates back to 2800 BC and it is coincidentally also the ancient city where the ancient Greek epic poem “Iliad” takes place.

Experts agree on the fact that the city was originally used as a commerce center for the Minoan and the Mycenaean civilizations, but that it was sadly submerged in its entirety back around 1,000 BC by a series of earthquakes which completely demolished everything in their path.

The whole city is around 9 acres in diameter and according to a lot of experts, it’s even older than 5,000 years old by now.

Around 15 of the buildings inside of the city all showcase signs of it being even older than 5,000 years old too.
