The FIRST of the BRAND NEW Piccadilly Line trains has arrived! 14th of October 2024

Passing just before 3am, here we see GBRf 66718 & 66798 delivering the first of the brand new London Undergound Piccadilly Line trains from Siemens in Austria. 94 of these sets are being built, with the first few being built abroad & the rest being built at the Siemens factory in Goole. The location is Paddock Wood & the working was 6X10, Dollands Moor - Wembley Yard.

Those trains genuinely do sound quieter as you can tell by the difference in sound from the new train and the freight train (excluding the engine sound)

Great catch. I still find those wheel positions to be so offputting. I gett why they've done it and all, but it's so odd compared to other units with jacobs bogies. Either, will be nice to have air con on the picc in 2083 when these will be in service.
