He threw in a small cameo of Uncle Dane at the end where the guy goes "what kind of defense is this"!? Uncle Dane is also a Youtuber but he specializes in only Engineer and teaches the playerbase all there is to Engineer.

There's also 2 other machines that Lazy didn't really talk about, which is the Entrance Teleporter and Exit Teleporter, these 2 are connect, and anybody walking into the Entrance teleporter appear at the exit teleporter, this is in fact, incredibly useful utility, especially for the slower classes in TF2.

Also every machine that Engineer has can be upgraded to a level of 3, a level 2 normal sentry has an extra gun to shoot with, at level 3 it has rockets, teleporters teleport and recharge faster the higher the level, and the Dispenser gives more resources the higher the level. Unfortunately all the Engineer's buildings can be sapped by Spy, forcing the buildings to not work and after a little bit, explode, causing the engineer to have to build again unless if the Engineer hits the sapped buildings with his wrench.

Just a side note, at 6:10 the bit with the engineer protecting his sentry with his body, careless whisper used to play over it, but sadly had to be replaced after the video came out due to copyright. (boo)

I main Engie and Medic. A certain playstyle here that Lazy didn't include is the Ninjaneer. Basically Ninjaneers just sneak past enemy teams and build near the enemy base. And yes we're also in a perpetual state of stress

the engineer is arguably the 3rd most influential class in the game behind medic and sniper with how much his presence affects any given match.

his sentry gun is powerful, no doubt, but the true strength of an engineer lies in his dispenser and teleporter as they facilitate both the longevity and mobility of his entire team respectively

I always enjoyed playing engineer. It's not a flashy role, but it really is one that can help your team a lot. It's kind of the opposite of sniper where you're basically either a god or you're wasting a slot on your team.

Engineer is really OP if you play it right. And it's one of the most creative classes to play in TF2. I used to main a scout, but as my skills increased, I started to appreciate engineer more and more. One of the classes with a lofty skill-ceiling, but when you master it, it's really rewarding.

Absolutely in love with the LazyPurple videos! I just had one not-so-small recommendation if you ever have a bigger craving for TF2 fan content. About two months ago, a group released a full length movie using TF2 as a concept for both it's characters and main story. It's a combination of horror and dread with a few comedic bits here and there, its name is "EMESIS BLUE", and it's absolutely free to watch here on YT.
It's in my opinion some of the top quality content that came from the community, with some great callbacks and references to classics like Evil Dead, The Shining and Sopranos. I just feel a reaction to it would be loved by all the TF2 fans here (me included >...>)

Tf2 is one of the greatest games to exist. I almost got an Australium. I got sadly a proffesional Killstreak melee for demoman. Btw you guys are doing great job with the videos :)

So, for the items used:

Rescue Ranger: One of his primary guns, replaces the shotgun. Sucks in combat, but can heal his sentries, as long as you have metal

Wrangler: Replaces his pistol. Grants manual control of his sentry gun, as well as damage reduction to it and an increased firing rate.

Gunslinger: Replaces his wrench. Allows you to build a cheap, disposable mini-sentry that cannot be upgraded, but allows you to save metal for your other buildings.

Frontier Justice: Gives you revenge critical hits after your sentry is destroyed, the amount of crits based on your sentry gun's kills.

Widowmaker: Reloads on hit, but the amount it reloads is based on how much damage you do with each shot, and you use your metal as ammo for it, with each shot costing 30 metal, thus, you either go unga bunga and shoot enemies, or you build your stuff and don't fire at all.

as an engie main it can definitely suck trying to play defensive engie in a random pub with no teamwork, thankfully battle engie is tons of fun and doesn't necessarily require the gunslinger for the playstyle. Though there is a reason the two are very heavily associated.

a good combo of engi, medic and pyro is nigh unbeatable.
AS medic, I'd spam Amputator heal in parallel with the engi's dispenser.
AS engi, I'm the one putting down that dispenser.... and keeping. it. up. 😤
I turned around many games as either of them, holding position, and then going on the offensive when the enemy team couldn't get WHY! THE FUCK! WAS THEIR UBER! NOT WORKING!

Love LazyPurple but if you're at all interested in any videos that go in depth with engineer then Uncle Dane (the same in this video) has amazing videos on Engineer in particular!

Engineer used to be one of my mains but then i realized I just liked shooting people with a shotgun more than building so I just started maining Scout.
