New roofer in Texas. I want to do everything right from the beginning. Where can I go to get the right documents I’ll need for my business? I’d appreciate anyone’s advice. Thanks.

This subject is close to my heart. I am awaiting surgery on my wright shoulder do to a strain I sustained while installing copeing metal. A brief synopsis of what happene, I was injured my second week and once I called my employer and informed him I was going to have to open a claim and, he responded that he was going to contact his lawyer. I have had to get a lawyer because, first he protested the validity of the claim. The clam was approved. He tried several different shady attempts to discredited my claim...but helst them all. So in A last ditch effort to fuck over me he said that I was oy a part time employee and, sense I had no actual paper work stating my actual job description and work parameters. And it worked....now im paying back what was over paid to me while I'm waiting to have surgery. Shots not right.
If i never get hurt im still their working. To any owners who read this do right by the guys who work for you. I've been out of work sense Nov 26 2019 and won't be able to return to roofing September a hole year. I love what i do and im good at it ...i just want to be treated fairly
Keep the conversations alive we need these talks in the industry 🙏
