One memory I have about Winter's amazing guitar playing is back when I was a teenager I would be hanging out with friends drinking a couple of beers and smoking tons of pot and after we finished listening to some of their favorite bands, I would slip on my Johnny Winter And Live album and it blew my friends minds. The one thing they would always say..."Damn, does this guy ever let up?" my simple response was always "Nope, he's just getting started" LONG LIVE THE MUSIC AND MEMORY OF JOHN DAWSON WINTER III

Classic photo of the old Fillmore East. I'm a born and raised Bay Area boy so of course we had the Fillmore West where Johnny played many times. Then when the Fillmore West closed down Bill Graham opened Winterland in San Francisco where I seen Johnny and so many other favorite band from back in the day. THOSE WERE THE DAZE!
