Did the movie Arachnophobia make you as afraid of spiders as it made me?? It's time to get over that fear and realize how impressively amazingly cool they are. Thanks to Jules Sylvester, on of the spider trainers on the movie, for showing us why SPIDERS ARE THE BEST.

I've seen a spider take down a cockroach. It was awesome.
On most nights, I've always been bothered by pesky flies and mosquitoes disturbing my sleep. Then suddenly, it just stopped. Didn't know why. Answer came one day, when I was cleaning my room. I found two cobweb underneath my be, filled with the corpses of flies and mosquitoes. Thanks little buddies. I can finally sleep well at night.

What I don’t understand is why so many people think that fear of spiders, or bugs in general, stems from a fear of being bitten or hurt in some way. I know there are some people like that, but I fear spiders for the same reason I fear all bugs; they just freak me out. There is no way you could convince me to like bugs, I just need therapy. 🤷‍♀️

I have always loved spiders so much, and I can watch a spider create it's web for hours and hours on end.

I've never seen that film. I grew up in the UK, my phobia stems around a giant house spider running into me while i was trying to climb the stairs as a small kid. It was an old stone house where you can still hear spiders running down the hall the a weird pitter-pitter-patter-patter sound. I don't remember much but it was a spider the size of my hand running over to me (on a step) and that's where my memory blanks to my mother holding me as I balled my eyes out. Good times.

My best friend got bitten by a spider when he was nine years old I wish I could say hi to him today but unfortunately he passed I still think spiders are OK but I’m just still traumatized and sad about what happened to him

I honestly don't understand why people find spiders scarier than snakes. Snakes are the true spawn of the devil in my eyes. Spiders over snakes anyday!

I have loved spiders all my life. I will not unnecessarily kill a spider. My front garden is full of golden orb weavers, and they are Soo cool!🕷️

Last August, my partner and I moved into a very rural bungalow. A few weeks on and we had assembled our big pine bed when I saw movement. The master bedroom was painted a dark purple and we have a deep plush purple carpet - even so and with the dimmer switch deployed, I saw movement. Within the space of two hous we saw 12 Tegenaria Giganticas. I was on the verge of fainting. My partner then discovered the entry point (this is mating season in the UK, incidentally), which was a vent high up on the wall.

He eventually shone a torch into said vent to see an intricate web and several legs. We have since meshed-up all of the entry points. The sad thing is I can never desensitise myself to the eight-legged freaks. I lived in Singapore in the 70's as a child and I was traumatised from the word go although I am unafraid of snakes xx
