How To Play Cry Of Fear Online [Steam Version]

This is my How to guide for playing Cry Of Fear Online for the steam standalone version

Step 2 - Create Your Profile With Hamachi

Step 3 - Create A Network For Your Friends To Join (In The Networks Tab In Hamachi)

Step 4 - Start A Co-op Game In Cry Of Fear But Make Sure The LAN Box Is Unticked

Step 5 - Once Your Friend Is On The Cry Of Fear Main Menu Tell Them To Press The Button On The Left Hand Side Of The Number One On The Keyboard (The Grave Ascent) [`]

Step 6 - Then Type "SV_Lan 0" Without Quotations Into The Console Box Which Pops Up

Step 7 - Get Your Friend To Open Up Hamachi And To Write Down Your Hamachi IP (The Host's Hamachi IP)

Step 8 - Go Back Onto Cry Of Fear And Open Up The Console Again Using The (Grave Ascent) [`]

Step 9 - Type In The Command "Connect (Whatever the Hamachi IP Is)" Without Quotations Or ()

Step 10 - You Will Now be Sent To Your Friends Co-op Lobby! Have Fun!

When my friend types in connect with the hamachi IP then it keeps saying Retrying...
Why is this happening?

I did everything you did except for me I typed in “connect *ip address*” in the console command and that worked for me. Your format wasn’t working for me but I’m glad it was a minor issue. Thanks!

Its a game issue where if disconnects players entering new zones. No fix for it as far as i know. sometimes your lucky sometimes your not

I do this, but in console always says Retrying...Retrying and Connection Failed.

I managed to resolve that by increasing the timer on the lobby time option when you create a game, Other people haven't got it to work however but it is worth a try. Hamachi shouldn't change the issue but saves a lot of hassle.

Aye, i just fixed it, it's a firewall issue so for any unexplained problems i recommend everyone to disable their firewall when playing worked for me

I already typed the correct IP and it retries for 3 times and "failed to contact game server"

It worked about 1 or 2 years ago, but now it's retrying 2 times then some message appearing

You can change the time before the lobby begins if you set it to something like 360 it gives you 360 seconds before a game will start. It is in the hosting settings just before you begin to host a game.

The consle keeps saying retyring and at the end of it it just failed the connection

try opening the in game console and typing this "sv_lan 0" dont type it with the quotes and make sure the host is the one who does it.Make sure you dont have LAN checked before you make the in game lobby too.

The reason prob why for some people it wont work its cause hamachi i have this tunneling connection problem idk forgot what it was but it happens to some unfortunate people and i havnt seen a way to fix it in like a weeks search so some people just simpily cant use hamachi like i cant
