I lived in DC in January. Rode my bike to the mall and watched the chaos from afar. Then the emergency curfew order hit. Everyone indoors by 6pm. We had no idea what was going to happen that day. No idea how long the curfew might last. I went to the corner market to get emergency provisions at 530. The store was a mob of people literally clearing the shelves. This was in Adams Morgan neighborhood. By the time we went to bed it was clear the coup had failed but the panic and fear lingered in the city. In the following weeks National Guard were posted at every major intersection, huge areas of the city shut down and fenced up. The city would be locked down for weeks. It was like living in a city under occupation. The fragility of our system of government was never so palpable. I am terrified for 2024 because they will try again.

The fact that all of them acknowledge the fact that he had the power to stop this not only says a lot about that situation, but also means that in not doing so he basically made this whole thing happen, whether he incited it before or not

I have always believed what Trevor said about TRUMP; that "in TRUMP'S world, LOYALTY IS EVERYTHING." TRUMP doesn't care about doing what's RIGHT or even what is LEGAL, he only cares that his MINIONS are LOYAL to him.

I'm no one special, I just volunteer as a poll worker, focus on my own life, but Trump's final rally really scared me. And, to think this goes even deeper, with this kind of premeditated thought out into it... even scarier.
