The poor are taxed. Phone tax, cable tax, fuel tax, sales tax, and a lot more. Income tax is not the only tax we routinely pay.

If you fish or hunt, or even target shoot, you are paying a hidden tax on top of the sales tax.

Taxes are everywhere.

I'm an expat, left as a kid, haven't lived in the US in decades. I'm facing tens of thousands in backed taxes and fines because I am an American citizen living abroad who makes slightly more than enough to owe the US government taxes because expats are taxed on their income abroad due to FATCA legislation. I've called the IRS and was told in no uncertain terms that my ignorance of the laws was not an excuse and I'd be looking at fines and interest. Keep in mind, I'm not rich, where I live, Switzerland, I'm lower middle but due to exchange I'm over the 97k threshold to owe taxes in the US. To top it off I can't renounce my citizenship because THEY WONT ACCEPT IT IF IM LEAVING FOR TAX REASONS.

Scott and other Republicans should also think about what happens when you take that last dollar away from poor people. It ain’t gonna be pretty for the top I’ll tell you that.
