Epic made a lot of good updates, the problem is that these updates didn't compensate for the removal of the trades, if they just added the trades again the game would be alive again

honestly, the item shop was NOT a bad update at all, but no trading literally killed my motivation to play

i dont think bringing back trading would change too much about the current playerbase. But I think people (me included) feel like something big will happen soon. Nobody knows what but something is lurking

The main reason for the trading removal was rocket racing in fortnite and now that they've realized that it isn't getting the support they'd hoped it's been decided to lay aside all huge upcoming updates for rocket racing and instead to focus on rocket league again as well as the potential comeback of trading itself which would really bring back a lot of good stuff for the community. I also hope the promised UE5 update years ago is coming along sometime this or next year as well. Yet one can only hope

Played rocket league since 2015 and tbh, I really don't miss trading all that much. Yes, it sucks they removed it. But that's not gonna stop me from playing my favorite game. If they add it back, cool. If not, oh well.

Ever since trading was taken away, I never made a purchase on their trade shop.

I just keep enough credits to buy every season if I like the season.
Free items if you play enough to earn back what you spent.

The only thing Epic could do to satisfy me would be to sell the game to another company that doesn't hate the game.

Could be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like there has got to be some compromise on getting Epic some more income stream to this game so they continue support... They should add QoL upgrades to a microtransaction shop.
This could include stuff like:
Workshop Maps
Custom Avatars
MMR Tracker
Spectator Queue
Player Trading
Custom Decal Editor

This would allow players to spend money on the features they want and access them while Epic is still able to generate profits from the players. Also a complete Item Shop (Every item with painted options) - they could set the prices above where they currently are and run sales to incentivize players to purchase This game is amazing and I hope they continue support for it for a very long time, that being said it needs to be worth their while to some capacity. Leave the base game F2P to get players into the game, and whoever "catches the bug" can pay for extra features/support the game.

What if epic reworked their fortnite and rocket league item systems.
Instead of having the item in rocket league and it automatically ends up in fortnite they could implement a system where certain items can be transferred to fortnite at the expense of losing them in rocket league.
Trading could go back to what it used to be and epic can be happy with their rocket league/fortnite parity stuff

Man we gotta stop coping until something actually happens, having hope for the past 7 years is pointless. Bringing trading back is a point to the right direction, but still doesn't promise us a good update.

I think the only reason why trading might come back in some form is because Rocket Racing died. That was the main reason the removed it in the first place...

I understand that they removed trades because of rocket racing but it was a horrid move. I tbh only played rocket league for trading. It was awesome that I had so much stuff and never bought credits or anything other than the base game in like 2017-18.
