Frame rates for animation, 60fps, 30fps and 15fps side by side.

Frame rates for animation.
60 frames per second, 30 frames per second and 15 frames per second.
I thought I would take advantage of YouTubes 60FPS option and compare 60FPS to 30FPS and 15FPS.
All for 2D drawn character animation, in this case using Adobe Animate.

So to clarify for the 3 examples here...

ON RIGHT = 60fps 'ON ONES' (So this is at least twice the amount of in-between work a typical animator would do.)

IN MIDDLE = 60FPS 'ON TWOS' (So this is like a more typical 30FPS 'ON ONES')

ON LEFT = 60FPS 'ON FOURS' (So this is more like what a typical animator would do if he was working 'ON TWOS' on a 30FPS timeline.)

I hope the above makes sense.
I made this today simply because I couldn't find an example of this online whilst I was doing some research. So I just thought I would do it myself, and share.

Many many comments from people who are confused about the 44 frames, 22 frames and 11 frames.
That’s the length of the run cycle LOOP. That is how many individual frames were needed to be drawn to complete one cycle.
But they run (play back at) at 60fps, 30fps and 15fps.
Hopefully that explains it.

I really liked the part when he was running, it really added to the plot.

Seriously, this is good...
15FPS are mainly on cartoons, animations and etc...(played on TV)
30FPS are mainly on movies(not cartoon, animations movies)

60FPS is for gaming...

A tip for everyone: Pause the video and use ", " and "." to go fowards and backwards by one frame at a time

5 fps - migraine-inducing
15 fps - headache-inducing
18 fps - 20 grit sandpaper rubbing your eyeballs
24 fps - movies
30 fps - visually distressing
48 fps - half-decent
50 fps - just "better"
60 fps - smooth like butter
75 fps - smoother than butter
90 fps - thank god this is the VR standard
120 fps - smooth, like my cheeks after a good shave
144 fps - smoother than that
240 fps - smoother than a waterjet cut on the side of some granite
400 fps - something to dream for
googol fps - what Shaggy experiences when opening his eyes

This is so heartwarming, this mere drawing isnt just running, but a bigger meaning. Why is he running? What is he running from? To where will he go? Will he be fulfilled when he reaches his destination? Such character development cant further emphasize on the smaller things in life that we can all learn from. The artist has earned my respect ✋😔✋

The most heartbreaking part was where they ran.

15 FPS: Standard for most animations
30 FPS: Is kinda like real life motion
60 FPS: Smoother than real life

How many frames do you want in your animation?

60fps definitely looks best to me, but 30fps is so close that it'd my choice as well.
