48fps animation

Did this mainly because I wanted to. I wound up stopping the inbetween phase mostly on 4s, which is basically just 12FPS. It looked fine as-is, and I realized that the amount of work I had left to do would exponentially rise the higher up the framerate got. Putting 4s on 2s, and then 2s on 1s is an immense amount of work, especially for such a short video. So I called it before I'd have to spend an extra few dozens of hours working on inbetweens.
I think it came out fine, and I'm genuinely proud of the result. Just for fun, I also threw this animation through DAIN to see what it'd look like with AI interpolation, and it looked pretty awful.

In reality 30fps is kinda the limit of how far you need to go with animation, because anything after that might be smooth but it literally rips away the sanity of the person who made, but if someone puts in the time to HAND ANIMATE A ANIMATION AT 48 FPS, they deserve way more credit than what they are currently getting, I’m subbing

Just a reminder that this took roughly 300 frames to make. This is why animators do 12 to 24. Stop expecting such high frame rates like 60 FPS from animators, it’s just cruel.
Edit: Just a reminder, I never said drawings, I said frames. The number of drawings wasn’t disclosed at the time I commented. 91 drawings is still a lot of drawings for a 6 second video. Anyhow, appreciate animators. Kudos to Mayde for making this 👍

All you need to do to show someone that you don't need high frame rate for smooth animation is to show them any of aimkid's animations.
Then show them that it's 18fps.

The irony is that while the video's container frame-rate is 48fps, the actual animation doesn't update at 48fps for most of the video, and yet most people are attributing the "smoothness" they're seeing to HFR. The REAL reason it's so "smooth" is because Mayde worked like an absolute madlad to apply virtually every principle of animation in this short clip with immense attention to detail.

In my opinion, the best looking parts of the animation are those that are drawn on twos, and it's honestly it's a testament as to how superfluous higher frame rates are in animation in general

Why didn’t you color? It’s just an outline. It can’t be that hard to color just 6 seconds of animation. These animators are just so lazy!
