I was getting frustrated trying to figure out why my headless pi couldn't connect to my windows machine remotely and then I stumbled across this video and realized I need a dummy plug for the HDMI. Got one on the way! Thanks Nova for all the videos as they have been a lifesaver while I'm learning Ubuntu.

This is really helpful, because I use a Linux system on my nas for dev stuff, while my main pc right now is Windows. I'm using VNC to remote into the VM but was also finding it to be pretty laggy and just not a fun experience to use. Might have to change my setup a bit and check this method out, thanks for the video!

I have 4 Windows systems on a KVM switch with 50 feet of cables. Works great locally. Over the internet, I use Remote Desktop with TailScale on each system. TailScale creates a virtual local network. Each system has it's own static virtual IP. This all works really well, solves some key internet problems and reduces attack surface.

Thank you for the great video. I have a question. If I'm wanting to remote into a Linux device using Linux, (probably PopOS) what tool would you recommend. It will be an internal, network but it will also be a separate subnet.

Informative video thanked. However that entire video you did not mention running Moonlight/moonlight-qt on a RPI, very responsive even with a cloud based machine / windows setup. But will this work on Ubuntu on the Pi? Remote power pocket sized.

Thanks for sharing this information! Does that mean this version of gnome is in the latest update to pop_os!? If so my head just exploded... I've been needing this, now I won't have to do GPU passthrough on my rack mounted machine. I already have plenty of those dummy HDMI dongles.

Did you evaluate this with 4k monitor also? I tried some stuff but with 4K native everything became unusable - best I got was 2560 something. Also upscaling in XFCE did not seem to work. In a nutshell RDP + 4K monitor remained very comprimised.

Might be a stupid question.... But if you are working on Ubuntu using Remmina and you are wanting to remote desktop onto another pc running Ubuntu, Do you have to install any additional software?

Hey man, I've got a network of some Win10 PC's.. and I'm running Debian 11 on one of my servers. I'd rather NOT have to change out the programs to remove in to just view the Windows 10PC's.. what would you suggest?
I'm currently running RealVNC on all of them, and prefer NOT to use Windows RDP. Which VNC program is the best to use ?

Nice thanks I'm thinking of turning my i7 2080 super rig into a linux steam server host machine and moving it into my closet. And I have been wanting to take a shot at linux on a spare computer and I will have that spare computer later this spring yay. :)
