Control your virtual machines graphically from any computer using RDP.

Setting up a virtual machine for remote access over RDP is probably the simplest way to control your virtual machines remotely.
In this tutorial I walk you through all of the steps necessary to configure a virtual machine to allow RDP connections.

Thanks, useful and clear! I am about to replace some power hungry old workstations with remmina on thin clients, logging into virtual box on a single, new power efficient workstation. For ordinary users, this should be enough for our home.

I was looking for a tutorial on how to VRDP into a headless server (CLI Linux VirtualBox server, but still be able to connect to its GUI Windows 7 guest VM). I'll have to keep searching, but I did learn something knew. Thanks for sharing the "SHIFT + Start" technique. I'll have to start using that!

Hi there! Sorry to comment almost 2 years after the video was posted... I tried to follow this video but was unable to connect to THE SAME session the VM is running. In NAT mode I get an "unable to connect to RDP server" message. In bridged mode, using the IP of the VM in the RDP client, I get to access the VM, but in a different session, that is, the windows open in the VM itself are not seen in the remote client (Remmina). It is imperative to my needs to acces the very same session which is on in the VM. Any suggestions?

could I do this and access my virtual machine from a computer not on my network since I want to have my computer run the vm or a server and I want to be able to use that virtual machine in another location that isn't my home
