Making probiotic soda

Показать описание
Homemade prebiotic soda
To make your ginger bug:
2 Tbsp fresh grated ginger (keep the peel on)
2 Tbsp raw sugar OR raw honey
4 oz water
Stir this well till the sugar/honey is dissolved and then cover tightly with a breathable towel/cloth and leave on the counter.
Repeat daily for the next 5 days until your mixture is nice and bubbly on the top. Your jar should be nice and full of Ginger bug juice.
Simply strain out the ginger and keep the liquid in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to a week before feeding. To use simply set out on the counter, Feed and let sit out for a min. of 5 hours and then ready to use!
To make your soda:
1. Simply add approx. 1/4 cup of strained ginger bug juice into a swing-top bottle.
2. Your choice of flavored tea (I went hibiscus & added a little under 1/4 cup honey) The sweetness and potency levels are all up to you, I did 6 tea bags for 4 cups water. JUST MAKE SURE TEA IS COOLED BEFORE ADDING TO BOTTLE.
*If using natural juice (no need to add sugar)
3. Juice/Tea should fill up approx 8/10 of the bottle, Just enough space to add the ginger bug.
4. Throw those bottle into a darker cool area for 24 hours (remember to burp the bottle after 12 hours to release the extra pressure while carbonation happens). After 24 hours you can keep in the fridge and enjoy the fruits of your labor!!
