I think that the, “Just play it cool! Just play it cool”! Part is in a different voice in his head to attempt to calm him down. If someone else says it then it might have more impact on his consciousness. A separate entity is trying to calm him down from thinking about the pressures he is facing. It’s often hard to talk to people and be open in these artists positions. The media is always looking for a weakness to make headlines about it. Often times emotionally and intellectually deep artist are just stuck in their own heads and have a hard time expressing it with outsiders. They write extremely deeply emotional songs about their feelings instead.
