This is the first one of these I've watched. He seems like the most pleasant man on YouTube!
PS: buildings in Africa are just 'African'

This is so far the best channel I've found in years. I cannot understand why he doesn't have millions of subs

The last one is really great. I love the detail, and the scale seems significantly bigger than what it was in the first iteration. Great episode.

Hey Tyler! You are definitely not the only one who gets obsessive over designs like this. I do more character work myself and when designing a new character I usually look to making a bit of a mood board too to kind of get my ideas out of my head and get sort of a visual representation of what concepts I might be putting into the design.

I'm still a bit new at environment painting though and your videos have all be really helpful at putting me in what feels like a proper mind set for work! I have to develop a world that is set in a bit of a generic fantasy world, but covered "creativity" if that makes any sense. It's been feeling like an impossible task to visually represent the essence of creativity, but I think I have a better handle on how to tackle this!

As for streaming, I don't know if you've done so yet (I just subscribed today) but I say go for it! I stream fairly often and to be honest, no one really ever shows up to mine. It may help if I can get a good time to have it scheduled in. But when someone does pop in to watch, they usually keep themselves engaged, and on top of that, you may find you get a few people that ask questions and seek advice to bettering their own work! I get these viewers from time to time and it always feels good for me to fall into teacher mode for a bit, especially during a stream where it's spontaneous and live!

Hope this helps! You certainly have helped me out! Take care and keep up the great work!

I would love to see more of you drawing over sketchup models, and a little more on how to approach it, and like what NOT to do :)

This is something that I'm definitely interested in.

Take away: I like your approach to making the large scaled illustration before making the many more in depth illustrations.

This was great, Thank You

Love how you show your process and the "evolution" of your world through this video. I was wondering, how do you get a handle on your level of detail knowing it's going to be viewed from kind of a faraway angle? Do you periodically zoom out from the drawing to see how it's going?

Great video, can't wait to have a try at this and make it my side project over the next months :)

Great work Tyler. Would love a workshop along with a streaming channel. I'd also wondering if you've tried Krita and or Procreate.

Hi Tyler! Doing kind of a call-out sheet for a city is a really cool idea!! I've been trying to do something similar for a world I'm building, but I've been working at the refined sketch for 4-5 hours now. Was wondering how long you spent on yours, and if you use any fancy tools to speed up your process, just stay patient, or if it's just experience?

Do you use any line tools? Especially, for the curves? I'd like to know if you'd recommend using the pen or line tool during the sketch refinement stage if you're just beginning to learn. Would doing so hinder your drawing development? Should you slow down and get good at free handing?
