The 4runner is the most reliable mid sized SUV period!! and totally old school simply-100 percent made in Japan-love IT

You know, I really enjoy watching your videos, simply because it's not a regurgitation of specs and features which I can find on the Toyota website. It's not just showing me the body lines because I can see that for myself. It's the fact that you tell a story about how this car fit into your daily life for the past week and the minute details that usually owners would notice - I've watched a lot of videos of the 4Runner and no one ever mentioned the decimal point for the temp. That is weird and pointless! And then how you share your experiences with the car. Thanks for the good video and review!

I just picked mine up last Thursday, in Solar Octane!! Coming from a 2016 4Runner SR5, it is a MASSIVE upgrade! I’m in freaking love with it. Everything about it. Love it!

Bought 5th gen 4Runner and it’s pretty much perfect

I think this is the last car with a 5-speed auto. It doesn't have the latest driver assists and the tech is dated. It just got adaptive cruise control a few years ago. It drives like a truck. It's slow and thirsty and expensive. It's ancient and Toyota sells more every year because that's what people want. If I didn't have a long commute I may have bought one too. Toyota took "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" to heart. The roll-down tailgate window is great. Orange is a great car color that we need more of. I like that Toyota isn't subtle with the TRD Pro line.

3rd row seating was optional on the 4runner. I'm not sure if they still offer it, but it's not available on the TRD Pro.

Best thing about this is people thinking this is slow when most dont even play with its Smode to shift down as you please unlocking its inner beast potential with a throttle sensitivity kit that you can simply add. Night and day difference for me here getting up quickly. I mean you really thought just pressing on a under-throttled pedal for some economy purposes was gonna be quick on a 5speed? 5speed transmissions were never that fast to begin with on most older cars which is why you shift longer gears yourself in a manual. Especially on the older sports carmodels that had auto and the stick shift that was faster. Only difference this thing has is no clutch. Love to down shift braking for control.😎 Taking advantage of the huge aftermarket place for this vehicle is the key

It's wild that in the time this vehicle has been produced, we've been through 2-3 gens of other cars like the Camry

Re the folding back seats. I had a 2000 Jetta whose back seats folded down the same way as that 4Runner.

The 4Runner is the last amazing vehicle for reliability

the one thing I think makes the 4runner that much better is the magnusen supercharger

That screen in the gauge cluster looks straight out of a 2013 Toyota product 😮

One of my buddies has one of these and I've spent a decent amount of time offroading in it and roadtripping it. For the tech, its honestly everything you could possibly want in a new car. Sure its not the newest and the nicest, but it has all the safety suite features minus blind spot monitoring but has carplay, what else do people actuallly need?

The only things I didn't like about this car were genuinely things I hated. The cup holders suck at keeping small things in place and theres nowhere to put your phone or other small things while you drive. The engine is embarassingly underpowered. You can't really get past anyone no matter how hard you try. The TRD exhaust also drones a bit. Cherry on top is terrible fuel economy, but thats expected.

Overall great truck, my only issues are petty.

How would you rate your driving for those 300 miles? 70% stop and go, 30 highway? Or the opposite? Fully laden or towing? That seems awfully low mpg. I’d be upset if I averaged that over a distance that great.

Zack, do you know if they are going to put an 8, 9 or 10 speed autos in the 2024? Rear window power up and down reminds me of the old Jeep Wagoneer's first the hand crank and then they made a power unit. If the glass was all the way down and you slammed the tailgate the glass window had a habit of breaking into a million pieces. I like the color also. Too bad they could not have put a rear window wiper on there somehow. Enjoyed the review. Thanks!
