I like the fact that you didn't edit all the failed attempts up the hill, helps me see and learn from what you have done differently on each attempt. Great video!

Great review!
Just a side note: MTS can be used in 4Hi (that’s why it did not turn off automatically when switching from 4lo to 4Hi). The only mode it can be used in 4Hi is “mud, sand, dirt”. Everything else is 4lo only.

Your videos and content is underrated. The information you provide while actually doing the off-roading is unlike any other content creator. Thank you

As a trd pro owner myself, I was screaming in joy when you made it up the hill

When it comes to snow, it really doesn’t matter too much what rig as long as it’s 4x4, but definitly tires is the most important factor along with clearance if you are dealing with super deep snow. These traction aids are great if you have good actual snow tires or at least 3 peak snow rated AT’s.

Anytime that I see your reviews on your off-road test Hill, it's an immediate pause on my work. Fine journalism done by one person. You should get far more credit for what you do.

I picked up a 2023 TRD off road premium with KDSS…… it’s my pre retirement vehicle most likely the last vehicle I will buy. Plan to drive it until I can’t drive anymore. Love the truck….did two quick oil changes to get all the wear metal out of the engine at 700km and 1300 km respectively…..glad I did. Lots of metal… hopefully by the next change it will have resolved itself and the break in is complete. I will plan to do the same with all the other fluids…. Transmission transfer case and diffs. Just to make sure everything is wearing as it should and get all the grit out of there.

Appreciate you giving the runner a chance. Other reviewers would have thrown in the towel. That is why I like your off road videos. You keep trying. Keep it up!

At 11:30 you touch on my favorite part of vehicles like this. The mechanical nature of their four-wheel drive systems, where you can just sit there, gunning it and spinning the tires, and it won't complain. No clutches to heat up, no CVT to overheat, no warning messages and cut power. It'll just let you hammer on it all you want to your heart's delight. Sometimes you just need that. As capable of some of the Subarus and things like the Honda Passport are, they just don't give you that mechanical nature and robustness. Also, in this particular model, there's just something so satisfying about slipping that four-wheel drive shifter into four low. The manual tcase shifter is one of my favorite features of my 4Runner.

I have 2022 4Runner TRD off road and it drives awesome in 4Hi with nokian studded tires when on highway in this crazy ice and snow, never slips

6:25 you can actually turn on the first stage of MTS in 4Hi. The more aggressive stages require 4Lo.

Fantastic video, our TRD Offroad arrives this week. After watching, were amazed at what these can do on ice at a major angle.

For anyone wondering, no you don’t want to be in low range on snow. Increasing the torque on slippery surfaces isn’t helpful. -long time Colorado resident

As dated as this platform is, I just can’t help but watch every one of your T4R videos. 🤘

“This year, Toyota updated the 4Runner by giving us a slightly larger volume knob.”

I’m kidding, that’s not a direct quote. The thought was running through my head as the video was starting.

I bought the 2020 Venture edition - has everything the pro has but with KDSS. So far, it is an excellent off road vehicle.

Absolutely hated the Nittos on my Pro. Switched to Wildpeaks and immediately noticed the difference. The handling in the snow and rain is so much better!
