The Centre on Saturday announced a new pension scheme called the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) in which government employees will get assured pension, family pension and assured minimum pension. The new pension scheme will come into force from April 1, 2025.

The scheme, approved by the Union Cabinet today, guarantees a pension of 50 per cent of the average basic pay drawn over the last 12 months, provided the employee has completed a minimum of 25 years of service. For those with lesser service, the pension will be proportionate.

At the same time, dismiss those government employees immediately who take bribes.

As nothing for private sector employees then stop deducting EPF and EPS. We ourselves will look after our social security.

Further all politicians are getting thousands of rupees as multiple pensions by mere 5 years elected that too without any contribution. Is ot not called misappropriation of authority by them?

Private employees are the biggest tax payers of this country. They get 👎 and as bonus, increase in STCG, LTGC, sur charge, cess. By any chance your salary cross 50 lacs, extra surcharge on tax. Reminders to pay advance tax to avoid penalty interest. All bumper offers for middle class. Pension for ever for the lifetime of the govt employee, lifetime pension for the dependent spouse forever. And we private employee earn for their retirement. Whatever provident fund we save, am 100% sure by the time we retire, that will be brought under taxable income.

Also let’s not call it unified pension scheme. It is government employee pension scheme. Unified should be inclusive of private employees which is not the case

What about the person scheme for private employees? Govt should not discriminate the people who work under Govt & Private. All are the people of india.

EPS members are treated worse than Old age Pensioners under Social Security Scheme who are getting ₹3000/- wholly born by Govt without collecting a single rupee from them where as from EPS members 8.33% of employers contribution is taken by EPFO & nil contribution by either state or Central Govts. What a hasty partiality? Is it called the justice?

What about EPS 95 Pension .Apex court has given clear verdict on this but now EPFO is asking pensioners to produce option form submitted by them years back and service record including details of contribution made by the pensioners where as all the details and documents are available with them . EPFO has recently issued circulars to the concerned employers to submit the required details other wise claim will be rejected. I am retired from National Seed Corporation Limited on 31.07.2019 and getting pension Rs.2939.00 per month. As per Apex court verdict I have submitted option form etc to EPFO online and offline but now EPFO, through my employer (NSCL), has demanded deduction details and old option from. Now only hope is from the opposition leaders, who may intervene into the issue of more than 75 lakhs EPS 95 pensioners .They have seen that Modi Government has become deaf & dumb .
