Can PoE Switch Power an Non-PoE IP Devices？

This video will talk about if POE switch can power non-POE IP devices. Some people may wonder if non-POE devices such as laptops can connect with a POE switch. This video is an experiment, which will connect the POE switch with a POE device, make sure the POE switch transmits power and data, then will connect with a laptop, non-POE device. Because of the Initial handshake, the Ethernet cable will only transmit the data.

I've got Reolink e1 outdoor v3 camera it has a cable running to it which splits into 2 cables 1 is a 12 volt cable with a plug on it for plugging into a indoor power socket the other is a PoE or ethernet cable can i use an ethernet cable for power &data & not have to use the plug this is how it came from the manufacturer it also states it's an IP camera please could you advise me on this it would be greatly appreciated

What makes a device POE ready? Why doesn't the laptop get power along with the data? Would you have to retrofit LED lighting for power to be transmitted to it from the POE device?

I was very curious to find out if I could plug a non-poe switch to the end of a 150 meter cable coming from a poe swtich.

This way I can provide more lan ports very far away from the poe switch and router.

Great info but I have a POE ethernet cable and I want to plug that into a far end room in a laptop. Will it fry the laptop. IN your experiment your switch figures out what to send. IN my scenario the ethernet cable has internet and power.

I suggest you change the title to "Can PoE Switch be used with non-PoE devices" as you're not *powering* the laptop throguh the PoE switch.
