Power over Ethernet (PoE) can make your life way easier when you're setting up IP security cameras. In this video, we walk you through everything you need to know about PoE and about IPCamPower, a brand of unmanaged switches designed specifically for IP security cameras.
It's 2020. There's no reason why you should still be running two cables to your IP security cameras. With Power over Ethernet, you can get your camera up and running in no time with one simple Ethernet cable. Connect your camera to power and to your network in one fell swoop.
PoE does have its limitations, however. You can only lay cable runs up to 300'. But our line of PoE products, IPCamPower, lets you go beyond these limitations in two ways.
1. You can purchase a PoE switch that has an "extended mode," allowing you to lay cables up to 800'.
2. You can purchase a simple extender or two, allowing you to take your cable runs to 600 or even 900 feet.
